Preparing the Burger Patties

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef with 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. 2. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined. 3. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

Cooking the Burger Patties

1. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. 2. Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. 3. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty if you want cheeseburgers. 4. Remove the patties from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

Preparing the Fries

1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). 2. Cut 3-4 large potatoes into thin strips for fries. 3. Toss the potato strips in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. 4. Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet. 5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.

Assembling the Burgers

1. Toast burger buns on the grill or in the oven until they're slightly crispy. 2. Spread a layer of your favorite condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo) on the bottom bun. 3. Place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, and some pickles on the bottom bun. 4. Add the cooked burger patty on top. 5. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Serving
