🍳 How to cook (12 servings):
Macaron Shells
1. In a large bowl, sift together almond flour and powdered sugar. Set aside. 2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Add the cream of tartar and continue to beat, gradually adding granulated sugar until stiff peaks form. 3. Fold in the sifted almond flour and powdered sugar mixture into the egg whites gently. Add food coloring and flavoring, and fold until just combined. The mixture should be thick and flow slowly. 4. Pipe small rounds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Tap the sheet to remove any air bubbles. 5. Let the piped macarons rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour, or until a skin forms on the surface. 6. Bake at 150°C (300°F) for about 15-18 minutes. Allow to cool completely before filling.
Buttercream Filling
1. In a small bowl, beat unsalted butter until light and fluffy. 2. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until well combined. 3. Add flavoring extract and mix until smooth. 4. Once the macaron shells are cool, pipe or spread the buttercream onto one shell, then sandwich with another shell.
