Step 1: Gather Ingredients

You will need 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 package (or 2 1/4 teaspoons) of instant yeast, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 cup of warm water, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Step 2: Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle the yeast on top. Let it stand for about 5 minutes, until the yeast becomes frothy.

Step 3: Create Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Step 4: Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 5: Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until it doubles in size.

Step 6: Shape the Dough

Punch down the dough to remove air bubbles, then shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.

Step 7: Second Rise

Cover the loaf and let it rise for another 30 minutes until it has risen just above the edge of the pan.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) during the final rise.

Bake the bread for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
