1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover them with cold water by about an inch. 2. Place the saucepan on the stove over high heat and bring the water to a rolling boil. 3. Once the water is boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and cover it with a lid. 4. Let the eggs sit in the hot water for about 9-12 minutes, depending on your preferred level of doneness (9 minutes for slightly soft yolks, 12 minutes for fully hard-cooked yolks). 5. While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice bath by filling a large bowl with ice and water. 6.
