Preparation of Dough

Start by mixing the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. Add water or milk, butter, and egg. Mix well until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Making the Filling

For the filling, combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into individual rolls.

Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, leaving some space between each for expansion. Cover and let them rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
