  • cheese (50g)

Prepare Ingredients

Gather all your ingredients. You'll need: - 2 large flour tortillas - 1 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend) - Optional fillings like cooked chicken, sautéed onions and peppers, beans, or mushrooms - 2 tablespoons butter or oil for cooking - Salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for serving (optional)

Heat the Griddle

Place a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter or a drizzle of oil.

Assemble the Quesadilla

Lay one tortilla flat in the skillet. Sprinkle an even layer of cheese over the entire surface of the tortilla. Add any additional fillings you desire on top of the cheese.

Cook the Quesadilla

Place the second tortilla on top of the fillings, pressing gently to adhere. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.

Serve

Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and let it cool slightly before cutting into wedges. Serve with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream if desired.
