🥗 Ingredients:
- whole chicken (1400g)
- olive oil (15g)
- salt (5g)
- pepper (2g)
- garlic (10g)
- herbs (5g)
🍳 How to cook (4 servings):
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Rub the entire chicken with olive oil, and season generously with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs (such as rosemary, thyme, or sage).
Step 3: Truss the Chicken
Truss the chicken by tying the legs together with kitchen twine. This helps the chicken cook evenly.
Step 4: Roast the Chicken
Place the chicken breast-side up on a rack in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
Step 5: Baste the Chicken
Occasionally baste the chicken with the juices from the bottom of the pan to keep it moist.
Step 6: Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat.
Step 7: Carve and Serve
Carve the chicken and serve it with your favorite sides such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
⭐️ Nutrition facts:
