- spices (3g)
- oil (2g)
🍳 How to cook (20 servings):
Preparing the Dough
1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt. 2. Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough. 3. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Preparing the Filling
1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of finely chopped vegetables (e.g., cabbage, carrots, and onions) or 1 cup of minced meat (e.g., chicken or pork). 2. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and salt to taste. 3. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Shaping the Momos
1. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin circle about 3 inches in diameter. 2. Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each circle. 3. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, creating a half-moon or pleated shape.
Steaming the Momos
1. Lightly grease a steamer basket and place the momos inside, making sure they do not touch each other. 2. Bring water to a boil in a pot and place the steamer basket over it. 3. Cover and steam the momos for 10-15 minutes, or until the dough is cooked and the filling is hot.
Serving the Momos
1. Remove the momos from the steamer and let them cool slightly. 2. Serve hot with a side of soy sauce or spicy tomato chutney.
