Preparing the Sushi Rice

Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, season with a mix of rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let it cool to room temperature.

Assembling the Sushi Roll

Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread a thin layer of cooled sushi rice on the nori, leaving about an inch empty at the top. Place your choice of ingredients (imitation crab, cucumber, avocado) along the bottom edge of the rice. Roll the sushi tightly using the mat, then cut into pieces.

Adding Finishing Touches

Drizzle mayonnaise over the rolls and sprinkle sesame seeds for garnish. Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
