For bulgur wheat, use a 1.5:1 ratio of boiling water to bulgur, pour the boiling water over the bulgur, cover, and let it sit for 15-30 minutes, until the liquid is absorbed and the bulgur is fluffy.

Making the Salad

For a creamy salad, finely chop the cabbage (and cucumber if making cucumber salad). Mix in a bowl with carrots and any other desired vegetables.
