🥗 Ingredients:
- chicken liver (150g)
- onions, sautéed (30g)
- sour cream (30g)
- butter (20g)
- potatoes, mashed with milk and butter (200g)
- broccoli, steamed (100g)
- beef broth or stock (100g)
- salt (2g)
- ground black pepper (1g)
🍳 How to cook (4 servings):
Prepare Mashed Potatoes
Boil potatoes until tender. Mash them with milk and butter until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Steam Broccoli
Wash broccoli florets and steam them until they're just tender. Be careful not to overcook to retain their vibrant green color and nutrients.
Cook Chicken Liver
Instead of the traditional beef, we're using chicken liver for this recipe. Clean the chicken liver and then saute it with onions in butter until cooked through but still tender. Season with salt and pepper.
Prepare the Sauce
Without using flour as a thickener, we'll make a lighter version of the sauce. Add beef broth to the pan used for cooking the livers and bring to a simmer. Stir in sour cream and adjust the seasoning. Combine the cooked chicken liver with the sauce gently.
Assemble the Dish
Serve the chicken liver mixture over a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of steamed broccoli. Enjoy your meal!
⭐️ Nutrition facts:
This version of Beef Stroganoff is rich in protein, thanks to the chicken liver, and provides a good balance of carbohydrates from the mashed potatoes and fiber from the broccoli. It's lower in fat due to the omission of flour and mushrooms in the sauce.
