Prepare the Bread

Take 4 cups of day-old bread, and cut it into 1/2-inch cubes. It can be any type of bread: white, whole grain, or sourdough.

Season the Croutons

In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with 1/3 cup of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of dried Italian herbs, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Ensure that all cubes are well-coated with the seasoning.

Bake the Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through the baking process for even cooking.

Cool and Store

Remove from the oven and let the croutons cool completely. Store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
