Fried Seafood And Vegetable Tempura Recipe

Tempura is a popular Japanese dish that consists of seafood and vegetables that have been battered and deep-fried to a crispy golden brown. The contrast between the light, airy batter and the tender, succulent ingredients inside is what makes tempura so delightful.

🥗 Ingredients:

  • shrimp (100g)
  • squid (100g)
  • zucchini (50g)
  • carrot (50g)

Cooking Time: 20 minutesPreperation Time: 20 minutes

Step 1: Prepare Ingredients

Clean and cut the seafood (prawns, squid, or fish fillets) and vegetables (such as sweet potatoes, bell peppers, and zucchini) into bite-sized pieces.

Step 2: Make the Batter

In a bowl, mix cold water, egg, and flour to create a smooth batter. It should be light and not too thick.

Step 3: Heat the Oil

Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Step 4: Coat and Fry

Dip the seafood and vegetable pieces into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Carefully place them into the hot oil, frying a few pieces at a time to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

Step 5: Drain and Serve

Remove the fried tempura pieces with a slotted spoon and allow them to drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with a side of tempura dipping sauce.
