Cooking Time: 5 minutes per batchPreperation Time: 45 minutes

Preparation of Ingredients

Start by washing and peeling the potatoes. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice the potatoes thinly to ensure even cooking and crispiness. Soak the slices in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps in achieving a crisper chip. After soaking, pat the slices dry thoroughly with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels to ensure they fry properly.

Frying

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large, deep skillet to 375°F (190°C). Fry the potato slices in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot, which can lead to uneven cooking. Fry until the chips are golden brown and have reached desired crispiness, usually around 3-5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and drain them on paper towels.

Seasoning

While still warm, sprinkle the chips with salt or your choice of seasonings. This could include cheese powder, chili powder, or any other preferred spices. Toss them gently to ensure an even coating of seasonings.
