  • ground meat (100g)
  • rice (50g)
  • salt (2g)
  • pepper (1g)
  • cucumber (50g)
  • cherry tomatoes (30g)

🍳 How to cook (4 servings):

Cooking Time: 25 minutesPreperation Time: 2 hours 20 minutes (including rice soaking time)

Prepare the Rice

1. Rinse 1 cup of sticky (glutinous) rice under cold water until the water runs clear. 2. Soak the rice in water for at least 2 hours, then drain well.

Make the Meatballs

1. In a mixing bowl, combine 500g of ground beef, 1 small chopped onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 tsp of grated ginger, 1 tbsp of soy sauce, 1 egg, and salt and pepper to taste. 2. Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. 3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.

Coat Meatballs with Rice

1. Roll each meatball in the soaked and drained sticky rice, pressing gently to make the rice stick to the meatballs.

Steam the Meatballs

1. Place the rice-covered meatballs in a steamer, ensuring they are not touching each other. 2. Steam over boiling water for 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the meatballs are firm and fully cooked through.

Serve

1. Remove the meatballs from the steamer and serve hot. 2. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs, like cilantro or green onions, if desired.
