  • sugar (20g)
  • butter (10g)
  • milk (30g)
  • yeast (5g)
  • poppy seeds (15g)
  • dried fruits (20g)
  • egg (10g)

🍳 How to cook (12 servings):

Cooking Time: 25 minutesPreperation Time: 1 hour 40 minutes

Step 1: Prepare the dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve 1 packet of active dry yeast in 1/4 cup of warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add the yeast mixture, 1 cup of warm milk, 1/4 cup of melted butter, and 1 egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until the dough comes together. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Step 2: Prepare the filling

In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of chopped dried fruits (such as raisins, apricots, and cranberries), 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of poppy seeds. Set aside.

Step 3: Assemble the buns

After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten it slightly. Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling mixture in the center of each flattened dough piece. Pinch the edges together to seal the filling inside and shape it back into a ball. Place the filled buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Step 4: Bake the buns

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the tops of the buns with a little bit of melted butter. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your sweet buns with dried fruits and poppy seeds!
