Preparation

1. Combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and beaten egg. 3. Mix until a sticky dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. 4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with cling film, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Shaping the Buns

1. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal portions (about 12-15 pieces). 2. Shape each piece into a smooth ball and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. 3. Cover the buns with a clean cloth and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes.

Baking
