🥗 Ingredients:
- potatoes (150g)
- vegetable oil (30g)
- salt (1g)
- ketchup (20g)
🍳 How to cook (4 servings):
Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the potatoes if desired, or leave the skins on for a more rustic fry. Cut the potatoes into equal-sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick.
Step 2: Soak the Potatoes
Place the potato strips in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.
Step 3: Heat the Oil
In a deep fryer or large pot, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Make sure there is enough oil to fully submerge the potato strips.
Step 4: Fry the Potatoes
Remove the potato strips from the water and pat them dry with a clean towel. Fry the potatoes in batches to avoid overcrowding. Cook each batch for about 3-4 minutes or until they start to turn golden. Remove them from the oil and let them drain on paper towels.
Step 5: Fry Again
Increase the oil temperature to 375°F (190°C). Fry the potatoes a second time for 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels once more.
Step 6: Season and Serve
Immediately season the fries with salt or your preferred seasoning. Serve hot with ketchup, mayonnaise, or your favorite dipping sauce.
