🍳 How to cook (2 servings):
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
1. Combine 2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry yeast with 1 1/2 cups of warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. 2. In a large bowl, mix 3 1/2 - 4 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Add the yeast mixture and stir until the dough begins to form. 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Step 2: Prepare the Sauce
1. In a saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. 2. Add 2 cloves of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. 3. Stir in 1 can (15 ounces) of tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. 4. Let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, then remove from heat.
Step 3: Assemble the Pizza
1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). 2. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two portions for two pizzas or keep it whole for a large pizza. 3. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. 4. Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. 5. Spread a generous amount of the prepared tomato sauce over the dough. 6. Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce. 7. Add your favorite toppings (e.g., pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, etc.).
Step 4: Bake the Pizza
1. Place the pizza in the preheated oven. 2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned. 3. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. 4. Serve hot and enjoy!
