🌎 Italian: Dessert

🥗 Ingredients:

  • mascarpone cheese (50g)
  • ladyfingers (savoiardi biscuits) (30g)
  • granulated sugar (10g)
  • egg (1g)
  • espresso or strong coffee (30g)
  • unsweetened cocoa powder (2g)
  • liquor (e.g., marsala wine, rum, or coffee-flavored liqueur) (5g)

🍳 How to cook (8 servings):

Cooking Time: 4 hoursPreperation Time: 20 minutes

Preparation of Coffee and Mascarpone Mixture

Begin by brewing strong espresso or coffee. In a separate bowl, whip together the mascarpone cheese with granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Then, carefully fold in the egg yolk.

Whipping Egg Whites

In a clean bowl, beat the egg white until it forms stiff peaks. Gently fold this into the mascarpone mixture to add lightness and volume.

Assembly

Dip ladyfingers briefly into the cooled coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Layer these in a dish, followed by a layer of the mascarpone mix. Repeat this process to create multiple layers, typically ending with a mascarpone layer on top.

Finishing Touches

Cover the assembled tiramisu with cling film and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld. Just before serving, dust the top layer with unsweetened cocoa powder for an elegant finish.
