  • flour (150g)
  • potatoes (70g)
  • onion (20g)
  • butter (10g)

🍳 How to cook (4 servings):

Cooking Time: 15 minutesPreperation Time: 40 minutes

Prepare Dough

1. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. 2. Make a well in the center and add the egg. 3. Gradually add water, mixing until you form a smooth dough. 4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Prepare Potato Filling

1. Peel and boil potatoes until tender. 2. Mash potatoes with butter, salt, and pepper. 3. Allow the mashed potatoes to cool slightly before using as filling.

Assemble Vareniki

1. Roll the dough out thinly on a floured surface. 2. Cut into circles using a cookie cutter or glass. 3. Place a spoonful of potato filling on each circle. 4. Fold the dough over to form a half-circle and seal the edges well.

Cook Vareniki

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. 2. Carefully drop vareniki into the boiling water. 3. Cook until they float to the top, about 3-5 minutes. 4. Remove and drain well.

Serving Suggestion

Serve vareniki hot, topped with a dollop of sour cream or melted butter, and a sprinkle of dill or chives if desired.
