Step 1: Prepare the Eggs

Place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a saucepan. Add enough cold water to cover the eggs by about an inch.

Step 2: Heat the Water

Place the saucepan on the stove over medium-high heat. As soon as the water reaches a rapid boil, remove the saucepan from heat and cover it with a lid.

Step 3: Set Timer

Allow the eggs to sit in the hot water, covered, for the following times depending on your desired level of doneness: - Soft boiled: 4-6 minutes - Medium boiled: 6-8 minutes - Hard boiled: 10-12 minutes

Step 4: Cool the Eggs

Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, carefully transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes.

Step 5: Peel and Serve

Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface and peel off the shell. Serve immediately as is, with a sprinkle of salt, or store in the refrigerator for later use.
