- chicken (125g)
- vegetable oil (12g)
- vegetables (carrots, peas, onions) (75g)
- soy sauce (10g)
- garlic (2g)
- eggs (1g)
- lettuce (50g)
- cucumber (30g)
- leafy greens/herbs (20g)
🍳 How to cook (4 servings):
1. Prepare Ingredients
Start by preparing all the ingredients: Cook your rice beforehand and have it cooled. Dice your chicken into bite-sized pieces. Chop your vegetables (carrots, peas, onions, perhaps a bit of bell pepper for color) into small, uniform sizes for even cooking. Mince garlic and have your seasonings ready.
2. Cook Chicken
In a large skillet or wok, heat a small amount of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until they are browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
3. Stir-Fry Vegetables
In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed, then add the vegetables and garlic. Stir-fry for a few minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
4. Combine & Season
Return the chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Add the cooked rice and soy sauce to taste. Optionally, you can add a scrambled egg to the mix by pushing the ingredients to the side of the skillet, cracking an egg into the skillet, and stirring quickly to scramble and combine everything. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together and cook for a few more minutes until everything is well mixed and heated through.
5. Serve
Serve the chicken fried rice hot, garnished with sliced green onions or a sprinkle of sesame seeds for extra flavor. A side salad of lettuce, cucumber, and other greens can add a fresh contrast to the meal.
