🥗 Ingredients:

  • flour (120g)
  • cinnamon (4g)
  • sugar (30g)
  • butter (20g)
  • yeast (5g)
  • milk (50g)
  • salt (1g)

🍳 How to cook (12 servings):

Cooking Time: 25 minutesPreperation Time: 2 hours

Prepare Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of warm milk, 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) of active dry yeast, and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add 1/2 cup of melted butter, 2 eggs, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add 4 cups of all-purpose flour, mixing until the dough is smooth. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes and then place it in a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.

Prepare Filling

In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of packed brown sugar, 2 1/2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon, and 1/3 cup of softened butter until well combined.

Assemble Rolls

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle (about 16x12 inches). Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough. Starting from one of the longer sides, roll the dough tightly into a log. Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

Bake Rolls

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each roll. Cover the dish with a damp cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.

Prepare Icing

While the rolls are baking, mix together 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2-3 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if necessary.

Frost Rolls

Once the rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the prepared icing over the warm rolls before serving.
