Step 1: Cook the Pasta

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add your choice of pasta (such as fusilli or penne) and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

While the pasta is cooking, prepare your pesto sauce. In a food processor, blend 2 cups of fresh basil leaves, 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 1/3 cup of pine nuts, and 2 cloves of garlic.
